Established in 1997, BI is a multiaward- winning fine wine merchant with an inclusive, unstuffy style. It’s always been our aim to make the world of fine wine accessible to a broader audience, removing the elitism and promoting a transparent and innovative approach to selling fine wine for both drinking and investment.

From humble beginnings in a small office in London’s Smithfield, BI has grown to become the world’s first fully fledged global fine wine trading business. With offices in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Los Angeles, we are working around the clock, 24 hours a day - finding new wines to bring to our customers, preparing offers and broking cellars.

Since its foundation in 1997, BI has had its roots in London. Arguably still the global centre of the fine wine trade, London plays host to more wine tastings, events and importers than any other city, putting BI right at the heart of the action. The UK office is based in London’s Hatton Garden – just 10 minutes in each direction from the West End and the City.

With 40 permanent staff over four floors in our purpose built offices, this is the operational centre of BI: our main accounts, operations, IT and marketing functions are all based here along with members of the Purchasing and Sales teams.

Hong Kong

Established in 2007, BI HK has grown to become a serious fixture on the Asian wine scene. BI HK sell to private customers and the trade, giving access to the world's finest stock at the sharpest prices. The Asia Pacific business is headed up by MD Guy Ruston.

Following 10 years of trading in London, BI were looking to establish an Asian hub in order to offer the same level of personal service as was being offered to clients local to the London office. The loosening of trade and tax laws around fine wine provided the final impetus and within just a few years the business had gone from a one-man operation to a fully-fledged fine wine merchant with 10 permanent staff.

BI has been active in Singapore since inception, and has been represented in Singapore by Angelina Teh since Jun 2010. The Singapore office caters for the ever growing demand for fine wine services in the South East Asia region.

As a mature market for fine wines, both within the local and ex-pat communities, BI has a natural place selling to private customers and the trade, giving access to the world's finest stock at the sharpest prices.

BI US began trading in April 2013 and is run by Director Joe Marchant.

California is home to some of the finest wine producers and many of the greatest collectors in the world, giving us unprecedented access to leading estates and private cellars to offer throughout our global network. Drawing on the experience and resources of our worldwide organisation, we have dramatically improved the service offered to our existing US customers while at the same time offering new and exciting opportunities to the wider US Market.
