BIX Update - January 2017

Fresh from the excesses of Christmas and New Year, 2017 on BIX started with a fireworks display of its own. We are currently running almost £1m of stock on our broking list with over 1000 lines made available to purchase – but we would like more! Offloading your excess stock is the perfect way to either clear some of those scary post-Christmas credit card bills or just build up some capital to invest in all the new releases which are coming this year.

When browsing through our full stock list, we often see that many of the most interesting wines are offered through BIX; certainly many of the rare, ready-to-drink wines are listed via this system. The reason for this is pretty simple: we are pretty good at selling new releases and many of these cases get stashed away in BI Reserves. Over time, the wine grows in value – or the owners’ tastes simply change (this has no doubt happened to us all!) so the opportunity to take this now ‘unwanted’ stock and offer it for sale is hastily seized upon... one man’s trash is another man’s treasure and all that... and hey presto.

It’s therefore always worth taking a regular look at the BIX stock listwhich you can view here – and have a really good critical look at your own reserves. If there’s something there you think you might not want to keep, why not whack a price on and list it? You never know, it might be just the thing somebody else is looking for...

If you need a reminder of what BIX is and how it works, simply watch our demo video here.

Welcome to BIX

January Highlights:

We’ve seen a flurry of additions over January, meaning that there are even more amazing wines that are available for you to drink, or add to your portfolio. Here’s just a little taster of some of the cool stuff still available:

Krug 1995 (en jeroboam!) stunning, ready to drink, rare-as-hens-teeth format...

Mas de Boislauzon Cuvee du Quet 2010 100-pt Chateauneuf from a legendary vintage

Lamarche a selection of incredible Grands and Premiers Crus from this most iconic of growers

Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella 2004 simply one of the greatest names in Italian wine!

As we said last month though, you’ve got to be quick off the mark when it comes to BIX. Look at all these stunners that you’ve already missed in the last month:

Dujac Clos de la Roche 1995

Krug 1988

Dom Perignon 1990

Potel Echezeaux 2005

Cathiard Nuits St Georges Murgers 2001

If you haven’t already, make sure you check out the latest additions. Whether you’re a fan of classic clarets, robust wines from the Rhone or silky Barolos, there’s definitely something for everyone. If you have a BI Reserves account you can use BIX already to list your wines for sale with us – and if you don’t, then talk to us about opening one!
