Pontet Canet has been released this morning at GBP 1370. A wine that almost defies its appellation, Pontet Canet is utterly distinctive and combines the best of modern and traditional production techniques. In 2016 they have created a stunning wine which speaks clearly both of the singular qualities of the vintage and their own rarified, opulent style. As Matthew Jukes explains “The balance between modern fruit intensity and fascinating antique flavours is unique”. There is no doubt this is an extraordinary piece of terroir and it is beautifully expressed through the estate’s committed biodynamic approach.
Also released today are Pichon Lalande and Haut Bailly. Both were absolutely superb and are heavily oversubscribed, so we are trying to establish exactly how much stock we are able to obtain and hopefully pull in a few favours in Bordeaux to make sure we can cover all requirements.
