Momentum appears to be picking up with the 2018 EP Campaign after the Bank Holiday weekend in the UK.

Yesterday saw the released of one of our top-scoring St Juliens, Leoville Poyferre, which was released at GBP 816. Jeb Dunnuck (96-99pts) is a huge fan suggesting it is “In the same ballpark as the 2000, 2005, 2009, and 2010”.

Troplong Mondot was also released yesterday at GBP 918. Under the youthfully energetic direction of Aymeric de Gironde (formerly of Cos d’Estournel) and the inimitable talents of winemaker Thomas Duclos (also the wizard behind Chateau Canon), Troplong Mondot has once again reached heights that match its location on St Emilion’s highest slopes.

Other releases yesterday:

Clos Fourtet 2018 at GBP 1008

Grandes Murailles 2018 at GBP 325

D’Issan 2018 at GBP 564

Lascombes at GBP 666

Trotte Vieille 2018 at GBP 744

This morning saw a particularly exciting release and a BI favourite – Lynch Bages 2018 at GBP 1068. It is more than a worthy follow up to the 2016 - while the 2016 (£1165 per 12 IB) is all finesse and cashmere, the 2018 is unbridled power and structure. James Molesworth awarded it 96-99 points saying it is: ‘An extremely rock-solid wine in the making here.’

The second wine of Lynch, Echo de Lynch Bages was also released at GBP 350.
