Bouchard P & F

Background

This wonderful old negociant house was a sleeping giant until Joseph Henriot bought the company in 1994. Since then, the offices at Chateau de Beaune have been entirely renovated and quantum leaps in quality control have ensured a welcome return to form for both the Bouchard white and red wines. To mark the 250th anniversary of the domaine in November 2006, guests were spoilt with tastings of Bouchard wines, showing a still fresh and balanced Meursault 1er cru from 1847, their monopole, a delicious Beaune 1er cru, L'Enfant de Greves Jesus from 1869 and a wonderfully mineral & red currant Volnay 1er cru Caillerets from 1929.

They are the largest owner of vineyards of the famous grand cru 'Le Montrachet'.
