Hailing from one of Napa Valley's oldest vineyards, 'Napanook', Dominus Estate holds a special place in the history of Californian winemaking. John Daniel purchased the vineyard in 1946, with the fruit from Napanook being the basis for the legendary vintages of Inglenook that soon followed. In 1982, Daniel's daughters partnered up with Christian Moueix (of Petrus fame) to form Dominus with the estate quickly establishing itself as one of the best in Napa.
In 1995, Monsieur Moueix took complete control of the estate and to this day is one of only a few winemakers in California to harness Napa's terroir with a Bordeaux Sprirt.
