Classed as a 2nd growth estate in 1855 and, for good reason, This estate is one of BI's favorites and, with the enigmatic Didier Cuvelier at the helm since 1978, we believe it will continue to be so. With Michael Rolland's wine making skills assisting Didier since 1994, it is no surprise that the wines are so consistent here.
Originally one part of the famous Leoville estate, Poyferre was born from it and is a consistent, quality performer in its own right. Along with Barton, we are pleased to see that Didier continues to offer the consumer excellent value for money year after year with his release price.
A wine lover's wine and one that is worth adding to your wish list every year for future, affordable drinking pleasure. The 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc produce an average yield of 45/50 hl/ha and shows attractive fruit even when tasting from barrel.
