One of the top three producers of Brunello alongside Biondi-Santi and Soldera, Salvioni is a producer of immense quality and style. From the very beginning, when Giulio Salvioni took over the La Cerbaiolo estate, their wines have represented the pinnacle of Brunello production – combining signature juicy concentration and effortless silky finesse. Unlike Soldera, who only produces a Brunello Riserva, Salvioni does not produce a Riserva – although he does only produce one Brunello wine. The standard bottling is of such immense quality, and produced in such tiny quantities, that is Riserva is hardly necessary. From its mere 3 hectares come just 800 cases per vintage of incredibly elegant Brunello, a wine which can be enjoyed in its youth (the 2008 was absolutely remarkable and totally drinkable on release) but which has 20-30 year ageability.
