Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 30/04/2002
Although this 1999 is pinched and compressed in the finish, it offers elegant, sweet/spicy black currant fruit intermixed with notions of toast, cedar, and dried herbs. This medium-bodied Pauillac is best consumed during its first decade of life.

Comparing the nose against Lynch-Bages I instantly prefer this since it displayed more vigour with lovely ripe black fruits inter-mingling with cigar-box and violets (indeed the nose is quite elegant and Margaux like). The palate has fine concentration with spicy black fruits with good grip. Well- balanced with a lot of finesse. This compares favourably in what seems a disappointing vintage for Pauillac. Tasted November 2003.

Fresh and vivid red, with floral and berry character throughout. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a focused, clean aftertaste. A fine claret. James Suckling
