Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes comes from two parcels of 60-year old vines. It has a well-defined and generous bouquet with pine-tinged red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy, spicy opening. The oak is again, quite prominent at the moment as you would expect, but there will sufficient fruite to absorb that wood by the time of bottling. Fine.

An intensely floral nose features notes of cranberry, red currant, spice and violets. There is lovely detail and energy to the lightly mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess a lacy mouth feel, all wrapped in a lingering and mildly austere finish. Drink: 2017+
