Mas de Daumas Gassac 2011
Tasting Notes and Scores
Deeply coloured with intense dark cherry and blackcurrant aromas cloaking warmer notes of roasted coffee beans and log fires. The palate is rich and ripe but with a gentle dark chocolate finish, smooth tannic structure and a tell-tale southern French charm of warm herbs. It is tempting to try and distinguish the individual components but there are no obvious varietal spikes in the wine’s profile and it all comes together in an immensely pleasing powerful yet velvety offering that shows great elegance and finesse.
